As of Monday 5am, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine has counted 70.33 percent of the online records of the results of the presidential runoff votes in the country, 112.ua reported.

Accordingly, Volodymyr Zelensky has garnered about 73 percent of the votes, whereas Petro Poroshenko—24.66 percent. And 2.32 percent of the ballots cast were declared invalid.

A presidential runoff election was conducted Sunday in Ukraine. Comedian Volodymyr Zelensky and incumbent President Petro Poroshenko were vying in this vote.

After the announcement of the results of exit polls, however, Poroshenko accepted his defeat, but noted that he will remain in grand politics.

European Council President Donald Tusk and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg have already congratulated Zelensky on his election as President of Ukraine.

As reported earlier, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also congratulated—and in Ukrainian—Vladimir Zelensky on his victory in the Ukrainian presidential election.
