David Sukiasyan, representing Armenia, claimed first place in the blitz tournament of the International Youth Championship, held within the framework of the Las Vegas Chess Festival. Competing in the under-14 beginners category, Sukiasyan secured the top position and was awarded the symbolic champion’s trophy.
The prestigious chess festival took place in the United States from June 4 to 8, bringing together both seasoned and beginner players from around the globe, including a delegation from Armenia.
The Armenian team included students of International Master, FIDE Trainer, and Presidium Member of the Yerevan Chess Federation, Yuri Hambardzumyan. Among them were David Sukiasyan, Robert Danielyan, Gor Harutyunyan, Aramais Avtandilyan, Raffi Ghazaryan, Hakob Hakobyan, Suren Gesyan, and Sargis Nyazyan.
Their participation reflects Armenia’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young chess talent and promoting the country’s strong presence on the international chess stage.
